This time of year in North Florida is for peanut harvesting and every time you stop at a stop sign or turn onto another road, peanuts are spilled onto the highways. The main drying plant is only two miles from my house and trucks and trailors are passing 24-7. Sure looks like the market will be flooded this year. It is usually corn but not this year.

Roadside peanut boiling is everywhere you can set one up. A table, pot, gas cooker, water, salt and brown bags, you have a boiled peanut stand. They go for about a $1.50 a pint bag.
I could sure go for a bag of those right now!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! Makes me miss home so much! Texans will turn their nose up at any peanut that isnt roasted and served in a honky tonk bar!
